The Medical Council on Alcohol is a charity(#265242) funded largely by the sale of Alcohol and Alcoholism(Journal), of which a half interest in the publication was sold in 2011/12 to the Oxford University Press for £500,000 to address an annual deficit of around £46,000[1].
They "educate, communicate with and support health professionals and others through a range of activities to meet our primary aim of reducing alcohol related harm. [2]"
